The Peaceful Transition of Power.


I don't like to mention politics here that much because quite frankly I am always questioning and my views on things range sharply from left to right and back again...moreover, I just don't think this is the forum-so I'll spare you! Whatever your views, I hope you were able to catch some of the inauguration or will tonight...I found it incredibly moving and hopeful...and especially loved the performances by Aretha Franklin and Yo-Yo Ma and Itzhak Perlman! And it goes without saying how very exciting it is to witness this historic day...I am and always have been very proud to be an American! xox

uncertainty and optimism...


I love this print of a quote from John Cage, created by Danna Ray of Groundwork. I have been slowly turning my mind over to the fact that I simply must get another job to see me through these economic times. I can't thank all of you enough for supporting me over the past years with your purchases and kind comments about my work...it has meant the world! I'm trying hard to fight the feelings of "failure" and keep on with my head up(and I do realize how very blessed I am!)..but I have found it almost impossible to create new work while I am so worried about and occupied trying to pay bills...and even when there is so much I'd like to do! I will hopefully be able to continue this blog and some work as time will allow...hoping this will simply be a temporary means to regroup, save and then reassemble. I just wanted to let you know...and thank you for being the kindest friends! xo

brimming hearts...

Finally...here are some of the valentines I have listed in my Etsy shop today! They are clear vinyl hearts I've sewn and stuffed with my favorite magical matter...old fabric, yarn, vintage tinsel, paper, glitter, photographs, millinery flowers, and lots of bits and bobs. They all measure about 18" from ribbon to dangle-but a few are fatter than the others. Oh, and my favorite part is the dangle...I've dipped some old glass chandelier drops in beeswax for a very pretty effect! I hope you like these...they are super fun to make with all those treasured scraps you hate to waste! Xo
I'll have a few more tomorrow if my fingertips don't give out! xo
