i heart little lily!

Lily Pottery has opened a new Etsy shop for her Little Lily kids line! I love the candy color combinations of her hair ornaments which are assembled from felt and Lily's one of a kind ceramic buttons!

Freya Art & Design

I just came across the work of Freya on the front page of Etsy. I see now she's been featured on several blogs...but I just can't help myself. The sentiments she shares in her work are probably ones we've all felt overwhelming our hearts about friends and loved ones, yet Freya so eloquently finds the perfect collection of words to convey them. She sells several affordable versions of her work in prints and cards in her Etsy shop. xo

Anna Betts

Happy Friday, everyone! What a sad, strange and scary week its been worldwide. I'm continuing to pray for peace and justice for everyone as I am once again reminded how blessed we are to live in this free country! I noticed the found paper collage work of Anna Betts this morning thanks to Teresa at Art & Light Gallery. Anna's sweet and restrained compositions produce a calming effect in me that I usually lack these days. View more in her etsy shop, Made by Anna or on her blog. xo

coming to artstream, july 11...

I'm super excited to announce an upcoming show I'm participating in called, "deep south" at artstream gallery. The show is curated by Grace Bonney of design*sponge. I'm really grateful to her for including me in a fantastic line up of my favorite Southern artists! I believe the show will be hung in their brick and mortar gallery as well as viewable online. Now...I gotta get back to my paintings so they get there in time! xo

Thank you, Second Surf!

I'd like to thank Barbara Bechtel- the creative force behind Second Surf -for so generously supporting The Constant Gatherer! Barbara currently oversees three separate Etsy shops where you can find her original artwork, polymer clay jewelry, and craft supplies. A resident of Florida, Barbara is currently spending the summer tending an old farmstead in North Carolina...check out her blog where she shares her current projects and adventures in the country! Thanks, Barbara!

a girl named Byrdie...

I wanted to share this piece that I was honored to make especially for a little girl named, Byrdie. She recently turned one and in celebration her mom let me create this piece just for her! Her mom helped me pick out just the right vintage doll that so closely resembles sweet Byrd. I had so much fun working on this...I couldn't conjure up a more magical muse than little Byrdie! xo

new prints from doe-c-doe

Gina from doe-c-doe has new prints available in her etsy shop! You can also place an order with her for any image in her Flickr album that has a watermark on it. I am smitten with her saturated color combinations. My favorites are the vintage toys staged as still lives in front of found paint by number paintings. xo

AJ Fosik

Wishing I could catch this show featuring Philadelphia artist, AJ Fosick at White Walls gallery in San Francisco. It will be up until July 10th if you can make it! Fecal Face did a great interview with the artist and there are tons of photos that show the work in progress. I've pulled a mix of work and jumbled them up in the process...and I still can't decide which I like more...the earlier more primitive pieces or his newer fiercely colorful ones. I'm not sure I could handle seeing them in person. I might cry or run skeered. Have a great weekend! xo
