woodroots

I can't seem to get enough chairs or pillows in my life...and I'd love to add these homespun and creatively-reused fabric pillows from woodroots. I love her fiber art as well! The artist (can't find a name) also has a store geared towards kids called woodrootlings. Found via my friend Moran in Israel- thanks! xo

This blogging experience has been such a tremendous ride! Tomorrow the fun comes to a close for me- but I've saved Liz Demos from @Home to end with a bang! Thanks again to Grace, Amy, Fu, Kathy, Pam, Mom and Liz. It felt so good to spend some time with each of you! Xo

Karen Walker Paints

This most clever of marketing ideas had me searching the internet yesterday for mid-century modern real estate and dreaming up my new decor! New Zealand fashion designer, Karen Walker created a palette of paints for Resene Paints based on the Bauhaus school of the 1920s. What set me off were the artist made miniature houses created by Gidon Bing(click his name to see more views in his portfolio) to illustrate each palette she designed. Photos styled by Katie Lockhart. Gotta find me some chartrueuse bubble lamps! xo

My guest posts are very special to me as they are sneak peeks into the homes/studios/and shops of the Southern women who have influenced my desire to live a more artful life. This talented group includes Amy Zurcher- my dear friend and co-creator-now director of shopSCAD, Winifred Ross Riley-Baton Rouge, Louisiana artist and designer, Kathy P. Thompson, Fayetteville, Arkansas artist and designer, Pam Pemberton, Fayetteville, Arkansas floral designer and owner of Flora, Bonnie Runnels, Fayetteville artist and mother most dear, and Elizabeth Demos, Savannah, Georgia designer and owner of @Home. My deepest gratitude to all of them for so graciously participating in this project...and most of all for sharing their ideas and kindness with me throughout the years. xo
