Columbia Antique Mall
I don't usually mention too many places around these parts...never really too impressed. But today I visited Columbia Antique Mall on the corner of Blossom and Huger streets and was blown away by all the antique treasures! There are two old filthy warehouses full of expensive things...the dirtier the costlier it seemed. I managed to finagle a few items which hopefully will appear in some artwork shortly. I've been preoccupied with setting up my new studio digs. I could not have picked a worse time to move...as you may have noticed, I've missed out on selling much for the holidays...woe is me! Hoping to be more productive in the new year, in my new space, with a lower overhead! xoxo

flapper hairdo that was too blurry to post.

my dream gift...
Oh, how I wish I could buy a pair for me and you and everyone-especially for a certain gal who was quite the roller-skating champion back in the day and probably rocked a similar pair in junior high...am I right?? Actually hers were probably fancier...and speed skate equipped!

Keeping warm...
Its been a balmy 70 degrees here in South Carolina, which I understand is quite different from what many of you are experiencing! In the hopes of wishing everyone warmer days (or at least electricity-I do love a snowy holiday!) here are some cozy items I've gathered for you...xo

Jason Hackenwerth
Jason Michael Hackenwerth is an amazing artist I was fortunate to have known while we were painting graduate students at Savannah College of Art and Design. Since graduating in 2003, he has exhibited his truly original and astounding balloon sculptures worldwide. The last thing I remembered about him was his incredible encaustic work (which inspired an entire class and which he generously and probably regrettably traded a few with me) and his famous balloon sculptures that were a hit at all the parties. Who knew what he had up his sleeve!? Jason received a Scope Roving Artist Grant for Public Art which he premiered at the 2005 Venice Biennale in Venice Italy- see here. I'm just so proud to know him as he is a creative genius but also a fantastically fun and vibrant person-as his sculptures would suggest! Visit Jason's website to view him in action!

Doe-San Francisco
It had been awhile since I checked Doe's website and I wasn't prepared for all the gloriousness that ensued! I didn't realize just how extensive their clothing and accessories offerings were-and most from independent designers! I thought they mainly carried creative housewares and papergoods-but I was seriously and thankfully mistaken! xo
Misha Lulu
I found out about the incredible kids clothing line, Misha Lulu this morning thanks to Abby Hyslop's blog, Lovey Dovey. Visit the Misha Lulu website and blog for all the fun!
New Wreaths!
Amid the chaos that is me buried underneath years of collected junk and supplies whilst unpacking my studio...I stopped for a moment and made myself feel much better by finishing two new wreaths! I hope you like them! xo
