Swan Bones

I've been admiring the work of Kelly Louise Judd of Swan Bones for some time. She creates paintings, drawings, dolls, adornments and ornaments with a sort of melancholy Victorian sensibility that I find especially lovely. I thought her drawing, Dinner Party was particularly fitting for the upcoming Thanksgiving celebration! Visit her website, blog and Etsy shop! Here are some of my favorite original drawings by Kelly and her new holiday ornaments. xo

Kathy Ruttenberg

My friend Pam Pemberton (whose wonderful flower shop and floral design service, Flora is located in my hometown, Fayetteville, Arkansas!) just alerted me to this incredible artist! Thank you, Pam!! Mostly, I live under a rock and therefore had no idea about the magical watercolor, ceramic and mixed-media sculpture of artist, Kathy Ruttenberg. Anyone living in New York will remember her window installations for Macy's Flower Show last year. If only I could have witnessed that! For now...I'm super happy to take in her incredible portfolio online here. xo *Click on the photos to enlarge!

Once upon a time...

I saw this video of the sweetest little French story-teller on Whitney Dail's blog and ended up spending an hour watching all her videos and dreaming about some day having my own big brown eyed girl like Capuchine...she is incredible!

A Bonney Girl Craft Supplies

Etsy seller A Bonney Girl has been licensed to sell the remaining inventory of a craft company that was in business for over thirty years. I love the possibilities of these turned-wood acorns, mushrooms, cherries, and apples! I would love to keep a bowl of the acorns as they are-so pretty!

Sweet Nothings

I made this little assemblage today from a vintage paper doll, twigs, birthday candle-holder bird, and a glass dome with wooden pedestal. I love how graphic it turned out. I've listed it in my Etsy shop! These photos are pretty poor-but the best I could do today-I'm getting ready for a studio-shop moving sale! Come on down tomorrow and Saturday if you're near Newberry, SC!! xo

Whitney Dail Knot Necklaces

My friend, shopSCAD Gallery Assistant, and artist, Whitney Dail creates these sweet crocheted knot necklaces! They are available for purchase at shopSCAD and through her Etsy shop, String and Gears, which she co-ops with her talented printmaker b-friend Jonathan Yoerger. Knot necklaces are fun to wear-esp. the long single-strand which can be doubled up or worn as a bracelet. I wore a single black strand at our shopSCAD party the other night and it made me feel super spiffy! xo
