Julie & Julia

I had the best time this weekend in Savannah visiting my friend Amy Zurcher and her family. We went to see Julie & Julia on Saturday night and I was in heaven...my best friend, a ton of junk food, Meryl Streep, Amy Adams, blogging, food, vintage Paris and butter! Amy also dazzled me with finds she found for me at Liz's basement sale at @home last week, a yummy lunch at Soho, and our favorite cupcakes from Back in the Day Bakery. We even got boxes of old photos down from her attic and had so much fun remembering...facebook friends will get an eyeful soon! Thank you, Amy! I am so grateful. You have reignited the creativity fire that I so badly needed. I love you! xo
Meryl Streep as Julia Child.
She should win an Oscar!

Amy Adams as Julie Powell.
I adore Amy Adams...if you haven't watched her in Junebug-
add it to your Netflix queue now!

swoon! i can't wait to see it. gotta gather some (or 1) lady that can go see it with me and leave the boys at home with beer and horror movies.

also jealous about lunch at soho. i can't eat tomato soup anymore without remembering Bonnie's amazing tomato bisque.

Oh, Boy..I was at the 11 o clock matinee on Friday morning. The first showing...thought I'd be alone..and there was a long line.
I went by myself..I usually do..and I was in Butter Heaven.

I LOVED it...

Came home and raced to the bookshelf to get my "Mastering the Art" down.....and I've been reading it ever since.

Am going to make the Reine De Saba cake for my brothers 40th birthday Thursday night. When I saw it in the movie I thought "THAT'S IT"...
Charlie's Birthday cake..

I actually got to meet her once at a book signing, my mom said, "Kary, your face is bright red". "I know..It's JULIA "!
