ok, here's the beef...i don't eat it anymore.

My new favorite blogger, Janis Nicolay of Pinecone Camp nominated me for the Kreativ Blogger award- thank you!! I've been reluctant to accept these in the past...1. because I'm weird... and 2. because I'm shy...but I'm on some new medication....so here goes nuthin'!!!
Seven things you don't know about me...
(unless you are one of my oH, so fortunate close friends!)

1. For professional reasons I'll never be able to reveal my hubs identity anywhere online. So please understand that I'm not just a narcissistic creep only posting photos of me around here...esp. our wedding day photos! He is real though... I'm pretty sure.

Don't let my crazy smile fool you!
2. I'm overly sensitive and anxious and and I'm finally really making progress on it with a fantastic therapist! I've struggled with depression since jr. high school and have tried every anti-depressant on the planet since...only finding some real relief recently with the help of my therapist and psychiatrist. TMI!! My secret cocktail? A small dose of Prozac with a tiny dash of Adderall...and presto chango...I'm functional again!
which leads me to...
3. I am extremely sensitive to the suffering of others...especially animals(somewhat obsessively). I no longer eat cows, and try my best not to eat or prepare any other factory farmed animals or their products.  A PETA (although I don't always agree with these folks!) video I saw once helped me with this...if you want the link I'll send it to ya. I try to pick up/assist lost or stray cats and dogs if I can...one of which is now asleep in my windowsill.
4. No matter how many times I have it done, I always think my next hair cut and color is really going to change my life. I have often fantasized about putting together a photo collage of my hair through the ages like they do movie stars in People magazine. Here's a lame effort....

5. I'm not all sad and scary...I laugh a lot and will do, contort, re-enact, render, or perform almost anything if I think you might find it funny.
6. I currently live in my husband's former bachelor pad home that he had completely outfitted-floor to ceiling-before I knew him by the decorator at a lovely local furniture store. That said...it is not my style or way of life at all and I am looking forward to the day when we are relocated to Indianapolis and I can find myself an old bungalow or mid-century ranch to make all mine! (I did try a bit to incorporate my old junk- but its no use-and we have agreed to sell this house fully furnished!)
7. My best friend, Amy once duct-taped corseted my entire torso to fit me into a Halloween costume.
(8.) I lay awake many a-night reconsidering what I wrote the day before in a personal tell-all blog post, then I get up and edit. ps. Thanks for the kind comments you left for me...you all are simply the bee's knees.

There you go! More than you ever wanted to know! Now back to work, my heavens!! I'm passing  the award onto Pamela at Thatch and Burrow 'cause she's one talented peach and I always wanna know more about her! xoxo

You have a secret agent for a husband? To quote Napoleon Dynamite, "lucky". I'm a non-mammal eater, but I still dabble in seafood. "Fast Food Nation" really did it for me.
As for your dream home, I would love nothing more than to find a fabulous mid-century bungalow, but Vancouver is far too expensive!!
Have a good day, my sensitive friend!

Katie, I love you! you're awesome, and now i don't feel bad cause i'm working on the same corny post.

yup, we make stuff cause we're weird and odd and sensitive. at least you've admitted you need meds, i'm still in denial.... :) which as we all know is a river in Egypt.

hope you don't move before we can go to Metrolina in the Spring! I'll be there in May!

p.s. I love the short artsy hair...it's very dark and Winona Ryder-esque. We were so angst-filled in the nineties!

Love the hair! The funkier the better :) Drop me a line when you hit Indianapolis. I'm in Fishers (far northeast side up near Carmel).

I love your blog...it is such a gift! I admire your honesty with your depression, it's something I "manage" also. Meds and therapy DO work!
Also, I had to laugh at your hair comment...I feel the same way! :0)

I have long admired your work and your artistic eye. The way you create beauty out of old vintage pieces is truly magical. I'm glad that your depression is getting better. Your honesty and courage are admirable. Please love yourself, you deserve it.

Hey, you're a beautiful girl with a great smile! I loved reading about you and your illusive husband. Keep doing what you're doing, 'cause it seems to be working. I visit your blog nearly every day and it's one of my favorites!

Oh, and having your torso duct-taped does't sound so fun, even if it was for something as important and worthy as a Halloween Costume. Rather, it sounds sweaty, restricted, sticky and painful when removed.

Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for sharing! I'm able to relate to a lot of what you said. Maybe us "artsy" types are able to experience life on a totally different plane as a result. Who knows? All I can say is that you are one of my very favorite artists, and I'm really glad you decided to share those tidbits! From your blog, I would never have thought you to be introverted or anxious. Your posts alway exude excitement, passion and confidence. So, keep on truckin', lady!

You are a craft rock star, my very favorite fine artist, web designer and the best damn remercher I ever did see! I love you just the way you are and am SO proud you are so comfortable in your own skin to say so this is how I am whatever and the meat thing you know that makes me happy. ALways evolving and growing in your magical splendor. When will it stop? Can we please take a vote on you cutting hair and going platinum? It was my favorite of ALL time. Such a treat to read this going back to do it again. And yes the duct tape was fun, it is one of many silly bizarre things we are apt to do when left alone. Oh we laughed. You forgot to say you have the best laugh and are the pied piper of all children and the mother teresa of dogs big and small kind and crazy.

I love your blog, but have been happy just to 'lurk' up to now.
I'm prompted to comment because I completely identify with numbers 2, 4 & 5. I knew you had great taste, now I know you're a great person!

What can I say........you are so very honest AND cool.
Someday want to hear more about the duct tape removal, maybe over a glass of merlot.

Dear pooh,

You are the sweetest baby sister! I have the biggest smile thinking about our SNL "Deter" skit reanactments - you have always made me laugh hysterically!

Amy was right - you are our "pied piper" of all 9 grandkids... they all adore their Aunt Ti-ti!

It's not fair - you got ALL the talent genes. We ALL got the "crazy" genes... but we are fun too right!!

Loved your hair pics - I too love, love you blonde... cause I know I could never do it!

Love,
Mimi

PS... Kim and I want to fly you to Big D - maybe some Round Top??

Depression is Horrific...
My doctor finally asked me how long I had been depressed and I answered, since I was born!

You are so sweet in your writing and brave for hanging in there when some days it is exhausting just to be ourselves, right?
