Tim Wirth

Check out the paintings and drawings of Tim Wirth. I met Tim while he was at SCAD...his work is one of my favorites at ShopSCAD. He grew up and is now settled back in rural Iowa with his wife and young son. An excerpt from his bio reads, "I like things like rock piles, cars stored in corncribs, and dogs running in ditches. I like the imagery of those things but I also like the attitude of those things. Sometimes I like the attitude better than I like the picture. Sometimes I just like the picture.” I'm always impressed he's able to exact so much sensation through his use of "deceptively simple images"...which is (again) one of the most difficult tasks for an artist. His paintings elicit memories (real or imagined) of views I must have taken in from my window in the backseat of the grocery-getter we drove from Arkansas to California when I was little. Polly Danger

I'm not scared of this domestic darling...in fact, I'd like one of anything she's crafting. Polly Danger carries a range of handcrafted fabric wares along with incredible notions- all made by hand! I appreciate her sweet confectionery stripes and styling. Visit her Etsy shop. xo

dottie angel

Where has the time gone this morning? Oh, yes...I've had my head buried in the fresh sights of Tif Fussell's home and handicrafts, which I discovered yesterday thanks to Etsy's Storque. She has two shops...dottie angel which showcases her repurposed vintage textiles and vivant, featuring found vintage wares. Peruse her Flickr album and blog for more of her sweet vintage stylings! xo

Lundby Dollhouses

I know what I want for Christmas! Thankfully, Jen Docherty shared this gem on her blog about the modern Lundby dollhouses. ( I didn't realize they were still in business!) They are everything I've been looking for in a home for quite some time. Maybe I could take one to an architect and say, "here's what I'd like, go with it!" I've actually been spending too much time lately searching for the perfect mid-century modern home for sale in...um, Indianapolis. We are hoping to be transferred there in the next year or two-so I am a little ahead of myself. I'd be pretty happy to play with one of these and continue dreaming....Working lights are standard! When I was little I remember thinking my grandpa was a mad scientist when he installed working lights and a crackling fireplace in my little wooden dollhouse. xo

Check out the parent dolls...they are somewhat terrifying!

Statt's Benefit Tonight!

Tickets are still available for the Statt's Benefit for those of you in or near Savannah, Ga! Check out the website to see the enormous wealth of talent and incredible auction items they have amassed for this worthwhile benefit! I donated a small bell jar sculpture for the auction even though my name doesn't appear on the roster. I've posted a nice blurry photo of it below! xo

new work

I've been mostly working on commissions lately(thank you, kind people!), but I managed to finish these two pieces for my Etsy shop. Still working with paper mache and trying to find different ways to incorporate it into my work. What do you think? xo

Bird

I am so smitten with everything from Bird that I had a pie in the sky notion to buy one of each of these for myself today. That is, of course if some money fell from that sky. Oh well, a little looksee won't hurt!
