Strawberry Swing Craft Fair- Kansas City!

So, my incredible friend, Heather Baker, of Bebe & Alice is organizing a Super Indie Craft Fair to be held this summer in Kansas City! She kindly allowed me to design the poster- actually more of a collaboration in the end-so fun- and in the process I actually ended up with three versions. The one above being the third and my favorite. But she's posted all three on the Strawberry Swing blog and we would love your input on which one you think is most successful! I'm really hoping to make it down to K.C. for the Swing, Heather has planned for much fun and handmade goodness! Visit the blog here for more info on attending/vendors/sponsoring! xo

Jane Kortright

My sister, Jennifer who lives in Kansas City, Missouri runs an estate sale service with two friends. She likened their last big project for me as a scene from Grey Gardens...a gorgeous old forgotten mansion. You can visit their site here to see what's still available from the sale. I was excited to find out photographer, Jane Kortright found the house intriguing too and held a photo shoot at the house before the sale went up. See more photos from the house here. xo

Debbie Dusenberry at Home

I just saw Debbie's post about her current spread in Romantic Homes Magazine and it is dreamy! Debbie is a true stylist and entrepreneur...she admits to several items in the shoot having been borrowed, hot glued in place, or already placed in her shop. I am lusting over the tufted bedroom headboard which is one of the items already at Curious Sofa...and most likely sold by now. She says she's into texture over color these days. See her full post for all the details. xo

Mission Road Antique Mall

One of our all time favorite K.C. shopping destinations is Mission Road Antique Mall also in Prairie Village, KS. They even have a terrific little cafe that serves lunch-perfect for a re-energizing break from the massive two story mall! I loved the carrot-ginger soup and Waldorf salad! We celebrated with the most incredible carrot cake any of us had ever tasted! This place is my paradise! 4101 W. 83rd St. Prairie Village, KS 913.341.7577.
I reeeally wanted the antique blue velvet glove box.
This seller has an abundance of vintage French notions and bric-a-brac.

Vintage hand-colored fashion illustrations-so sad I couldn't afford these!

My favorite booth called, "Prize".
There are actually several booths by this inspired seller!

Great tag!

More "Prize"

Love this iron settee made of two separate chairs.

Corals, antlers, and birds, oh, my!

Vintage metal and glass cart

Gorgeous Deco Cream Chaise Lounge

I love this enormous painting of a girl-kind of Balthus-esque-but less disturbing.

How can I get this birdcage to S.C.?

The Curious Sofa

I was so excited to finally visit the new location of The Curious Sofa-now located in Prairie Village, KS. We experienced the shop in its full Halloween regalia! There were so many creative details to take in. I must have walked around the store ten times! I was suddenly too shy to say hello or introduce myself to the owner, Debbie Dusenberry. So, Debbie if you read this-Thank you! You are an inspiration! 3925 W. 69th Terrace, Prairie Village, Kansas 913.432.8966
Visit Debbie's blog for better photos and behind the scenes peeks!

Beautiful windows!

Love the glitter spiders on parade in the bed! My worst nightmare!
Incredible antique patchwork tin ceiling!

Beautiful bed-linens with baby ghost dresses flying overhead! I had to buy a few feather owls to make some more spooky wreaths!

My favorite vignette was the enormous dollhouse which had landed on the wicked witch-complete with blowing tattered curtains.

My sister Jennifer works up her Halloween door-answering act.

I love this giant crocheted pendant lamp-made festive with fluffy white owls.

The ladies powder room was my favorite spot! The prettiest pale wallpaper, found wood wainscoting, and an amazing pair of seashell sconces. (Apologies- my photos just don't do any of it justice!!)
