Woowhee! Check out this super article from Brooke Hodge about shopSCAD in The New York Times today! Amy kindly shared our story with the writer and once again shared the limelight of shopSCAD glory with me...and she needn't! She has taken the shop to an entirely new level of awesome-ness since I was there! (Speaking of which...a print catalog that is so fabulous it blows my mind is under construction as I write this-consider yourself warned!) Unfortunately, Amy's last name was misspelled a-gain. {New note: it has been corrected!} Its Amy Zurcher..."enterprising retail director" eXtraOrdinaiRe!!  Soon to be a household name so's you better get it right! xo

My Branch and Bird Yarn Wreath made today's edition of Daily Candy Everywhere featuring Poppytalk's Handmade Market! Woohoo! However, I took that wreath to ShopSCAD last week! If you are interested in purchasing it- please call them at 912.525.5180. I have uploaded three new wreaths onto my Etsy site- and will upload them to Poppytalk as soon as it lets me! I think it must have hit a Daily Candy overload!! *Yes-just received word from Jan at Poppytalk that their server was blasted from more than 30,000 hits this morning-way more than expected-but they are working to repair it asap! Yay-Thank you, Daily Candy readers!!

I had an OMG! moment today when I clicked on the blog link on a comment I received here yesterday! It was from Heather Moore of Skinny Laminx! I am a big fan of her work and was elated to find out she writes a column for Elle Decoration's Blog! She is extremely kind in extending credit to me for introducing her to the work of Thomas Wold! She didn't need to-but boy am I tickled pink that she did! I have had a crush on Elle Decoration since college. I even sent them a bunch of handbags I made in my early twenties-which they politely sent back with a gracious letter that I still keep in a scrapbook somewhere! Thank you, Heather! Holy Moly!

I almost fell off my computer stool when I saw that Victoria at SFgirlbybay had mentioned me today! Her blog is one I've been reading for the longest time and I've been fantasizing about getting her attention the entire time! I just cannot believe it! I have been feeling so out of touch and on the verge of giving up lately for a steady paycheck-but thanks to my friends and those in blogland who have been so supportive of me lately- Artsy Mama, Poppytalk, Victoria-and today my friend, Liz Demos from @Home!-I can't help but take this good energy and persevere!!
(BTW- Jackson won First Prize in the First Grade division of the Science Fair-Way to Go, Action Jackson!)

Domino- the Final Frontier

When Amy Zurcher and I began shopSCAD we faced a lot of naysayers! Everything from the name to our display fixtures were poo-pooed - and loudly! Although, within a few months it was quite exciting and satisfying to see our efforts noticed in national publications. While I am no longer associated with the shop- I still feel as though I have bragging rights- and I want to especially applaud the work Amy has done to take shopSCAD to a new level! ShopSCAD, shopSCAD Atlanta, and shopSCADonline, have been mentioned in all the great magazines such as Vogue, Elle Decor, Country Home, Blueprint, Lucky, Mary Engelbreit's Home Companion, Cottage Living, and now........Domino! We both love the magazine and Amy couldn't have been more thrilled to meet style editor, Rita Konig! Rita has put together a lovely article that I think captures the old-world glamour and moodiness that we love most about Savannah. I've always thought Domino was the only equivalent we had in the States that compared to my British favorite Elle Decoration. Ok-I'm done buffing my trophy of No Shame. But stay tuned... ShopSCAD is about to undergo some big changes!
