fine and dandy home

I ran across these sweet home views of shopkeeper, Shevie Moyle on Flickr awhile back.  Her home/workshop and brick-and-mortar vintage store, Fine and Dandy are located in Cornwall, UK. No online shop, yet... (keeping fingers crossed!) But check out more of her yummy collections and views of her home and shop on her blog, Paperdolly. xo
I love her pea green chair and Cath Kidston fabrics.

Little vignette with found treasures and a miniature clothesline handmade by Shevie!

rescued sideboard with growing collection of Royal memorabilia.

Makes washday look positively cheery!

Something Simple...Eureka Springs, Arkansas

We've been in Arkansas visiting my family and we made a quick trip to nearby Eureka Springs early last week. My favorite spot was this sweet cottage, Something Simple where artist, small biz owner and innkeeper, Kaylene Shephard displays her vintage, vintage inspired and handmade wares. I loved her paper wreaths and ornaments made from vintage bed springs, chandelier prisms, torn ribbon and glitter. She also has a gorgeous lake front cottage for rent if you're interested in tucking away in Eureka for a weekend! xo

Another collection of her found object assemblages.

Tombées du Camion

My list of must-stop shops to visit when I finally make it out of this state is growing at a rapid pace! Would you believe I've never been to Tinsel Trading Co.?! I think that for a found-object-nest-builder like myself-its kind of like a sacred pilgrimage that must be made (ok, not really)...but you know what I mean?! I do about 99% of my supply shopping online-hence my long list of favorite suppliers down there on the right. And I still cruise Ebay and the internet like a fool. However, knowing that there are emporiums out there like Tinsel Trading...and this one in Paris- Tombées du Camion-simply makes my heart hurt knowing that I...can't....get....there.....anytime soon, that is! This shop is chock full of odd little found things in large quantities- just like its name describes- "things fallen off the truck" Their website is set up in a manner similar to the way the proprietor so carefully and artfully arranges his wares...see for yourself! xoxo

thank you!

I need to thank my kind friend Barb Blair of Knack Studios for giving me a much-appreciated boost of support on her blog last Friday! Barb is so talented and such a lovely person- I feel so fortunate just to know her! Thank you also to Christy of farouche for her super sweet post yesterday about my work on her blog, Dandy Bread and Candy. I can't tell you how much I appreciate these kind gestures from folks I so admire! xo

Debbie Dusenberry at Home

I just saw Debbie's post about her current spread in Romantic Homes Magazine and it is dreamy! Debbie is a true stylist and entrepreneur...she admits to several items in the shoot having been borrowed, hot glued in place, or already placed in her shop. I am lusting over the tufted bedroom headboard which is one of the items already at Curious Sofa...and most likely sold by now. She says she's into texture over color these days. See her full post for all the details. xo

I'm in Savannah visiting with my friend Amy and our friend Tera from LA...we haven't all been together in almost seven years! Tera has on the cutest vegan shoes today from her friend's shop, Alternative Outfitters, a vegan boutique in Pasadena. I love her selection and the prices are super too! xo

The Fat Finch

Please take a moment to visit my new sponsor, The Fat Finch-Roberta Beyer's wonderful shop for all things birdie! She carries everything you need for serious birding, whether its feeders, birdbaths, books or food to bird-related home-goods, paper, toys and kids, jewelry and gifts. I especially love her colorful bird giftwrap paper and everything Charlie Harper. Thanks Roberta!
