Sweet Jessie's Dreamcatchers

I interrupt my hiatus to tell you that Sweet Jessie has listed several of her magical Sweet Dream Dreamcatchers! I asked her awhile back to pretty, please tell me when she made more and she has!  Check them out in her etsy shop and read her descriptions for more behind the legend of dreamcatchers!

Taking a Vacation...

from the blog!
I guess you realized that by now!

Thanks for visiting! Hopefully, I'll be back later this summer...pending a house sale and a house purchase-neither of which is currently on the table! So many decisions to make, details to consider, budgets to wrangle. Waiting and working on finding our own "practical and artistic" (see picture) dream home to reveal itself! xox

Finding a home sweet home...

Well...now that our home is clean and polished and on the market, our attention turns to finding a home in Indianapolis. We'll fly there this Wednesday for a ten day home search marathon.  My dream (and luckily, he's obliging...xo) is to find a mid-century modern gem like the ones I find at my new favorite haunt, AtomicIndy- a blog dedicated to all things Mid-Century Midwest Modern. I have my heart set on a finding a one-story ranch (a basement would be great!), tall windows, an airy open floor plan, and  a killer limestone fireplace. Granite counter tops need not apply! If anyone has ANY information about ANY interesting properties in the NE Indianapolis area- Please do let me know!  xo

So long, dear South!

Hello, Friends! I apologize for the neglect around here but my father-in-law has driven all the way from Indianapolis to South Carolina help us prepare our home to put on the market a.s.a.p! We've happily and finally been  given our relocation notice for Indianapolis and we have 90 days to get it all done! So, I'm busy spreading mulch, washing windows, sorting and packing...but hopefully I'll be around again soon! Happy Weekend! xo

Mary Engel Mixed Media Sculpture

I thought I had a lot of tchochke's to manage in my studio...but it just doesn't compare to artist, Mary Engel's treasure trove-and look how tidy!! I'm especially fond of Mary's hand built mixed media  sculptures that mix ceramics and found ceramic figures and findings. Sometimes it seems the simplest  and most literally expressed ideas are the ones that work like magic...e.g. watch dog, bird dog.  And wasn't it Shakespeare who wrote, brevity is the soul of wit...  I suppose he would know! xo

Tender Letters

Do you ever feel a hankerin' to "favorite" someone's entire album on Flickr? I believe I did just that this morning to an unsuspecting artist, Lauren Treece-known as Tender Letters on Flickr. Here's a sampling of her photography-a mix of art and life-and really the two bear no distinction. I hope you enjoy the escape to her world as much as I do....xo
